Welcome! Bienvenue! Benvenuto! In other words, thank you for being here...

Welcome! Bienvenue! Benvenuto! In other words, thank you for being here...

I finally have a website!!! Yay! If you've already read my profile on the about page, you'll know that I am Sarine, the owner, creator, designer of this little world called Frankie's Girl. I'm so glad you've taken the time to have a look around and read a few things. Not only is this my first ever blog post, but also a chance to talk about the thing that has previously held me back from my journey to enrich my creative lifestyle....

Doubt. Yep, doubt. Only five little letters but one hell of a feeling in the depths of your soul that makes you think and rethink and rethink, until you've completely talked yourself out of what is probably a pretty decent idea. That feeling of uncertainty has sometimes held me back from making decisions that involved any kind of change out of my little bubble of comfort. The problem was not that of change, it was simply the fear of failure.

So I was my own saboteur for many years until my biggest champion of all, my husband Frank, said the words I needed to hear, 'Quit your job today and pursue what makes you happy'. It wasn't a 'lets think about this for a week' kind of deal, nope, he wanted me to dive straight into the deep end without second guessing anything. With his faith and complete support, that's exactly what I did. I realised that the fear of not trying, wondering of the 'what ifs' and regret is much greater than failure. Of course it took a while to actually get here.

I'm slightly embarrassed to admit, I didn't have a website til recently. Who in this day and age doesn't have a website? Well me. Or I should say that was me. Apart from being very particular about what I was showing off to the world, I found it difficult to make decisions on how the website should look, my product focus, functionality versus appearance, and so on. I had other platforms that I was selling my wares on, so the website always seemed to be less important*.

*(Note to budding business owners) A website is very important and essential :)

Now it's a brand new year and Frankie’s Girl has it’s own website. Hooray! (let’s call this the unofficial launch party!!) I have settled with the thought that in some cases done is better than perfect, so here I am world, take it or leave it... (although secretly it's all fingers crossed for positivity and good vibes!)

I wanted to give you this insight into my story as I know many others have felt the same. My posts won't be as serious as this one I assure you (we're all about fun and smiles) and the blog will be here mostly to showcase new work and products. But in case you were on the fence about whether or not to pursue your dreams, here’s a note by best selling author Seth Godin, which might change your mind about your own fears:

'But what if I fail? You will. A better question might be, ‘after I fail, what then?’ If you’ve chosen well, after you fail you will be one step closer to succeeding, you will be wiser and stronger and you almost certainly will be more respected by all of those that are afraid to try.'

That you will be.

Frankie’s Girl xoxo
